A new year is neither good nor bad, it is just another opportunity. The way we interpret the circumstances surrounding an opportunity is subjective and this somehow also determines and marks out the different results we are likely to get. Like in all opportunities, you either seize them or let them go by. Some people let go because they don't see the opportunity. Others let go because they see and don't trust or are just lazy.
